Privacy Policy
Last updated October 9, 2026
The Legacy Build, LLC (“we”, “us”) buys, restores and sells homes in Peoria and Central Illinois. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers this website, thelegacybuild.com, and The Legacy Build Console, the private app our office team and the contractors we hire use on the web, on Windows and on iPhone.
The short version
- We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't share it for advertising.
- This website doesn't use cookies, analytics or ad trackers.
- We only use what you send us to answer you, buy or work on homes, and run our business.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information at any time.
Information we collect
When you visit this website
You can browse the site without giving us anything. Like every website, the services that deliver our pages receive basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for, so they can send the page and keep the site secure. The site's fonts load from Google Fonts, which also receives your IP address. Photos of our posts on the Updates page are copies we keep ourselves, so viewing them sends nothing to Instagram or Facebook. If you tap through to one of our social pages, that service's own privacy policy applies.
When you fill out the Sell Your Home form
We collect your name, email address, property address, and, if you choose to give them, your phone number and message.
When you use The Legacy Build Console app
The Console is invite-only. We create accounts for our office team and for contractors we hire; there is no public sign-up. Depending on your role, we collect:
- Account details: your email address and a password. The password is stored by our sign-in provider in a form we can't read.
- Contractor details: your company and contact name, phone and email, your W-9 and certificates of insurance, and the name and date you sign our subcontractor agreement with.
- Work you submit: daily logs, photos, questions, change requests, material requests and status updates for the properties you're assigned to.
- Office activity: for our own team, a record of who changed what and when.
The app asks for your camera or photo library only when you choose to take or attach a photo or document. Photos can carry information your phone adds, such as the time and place they were taken; you can turn off location tagging in your phone's camera settings. The app doesn't track your location, read your contacts, collect biometric information or show ads. It keeps you signed in using your browser's or phone's local storage.
How we use it
- To answer your inquiry, look at your property, make you an offer and follow up by email or phone. We may email you a short acknowledgment when you send the form.
- To run our projects: scheduling, scopes of work, progress photos, punch lists and paying contractors.
- To meet tax and insurance requirements, for example the W-9 and certificates of insurance we keep for each contractor.
- To keep our systems secure, back them up and fix problems.
- To comply with the law and protect our rights.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that run parts of our business for us, and only as needed for that work:
- Vercel hosts this website and the web version of the Console.
- Supabase stores our database and files and handles sign-in.
- Resend delivers our emails.
- GitHub keeps copies of our database backups in a private repository.
- Apple delivers the iPhone app through TestFlight, under Apple's own privacy policy.
We may also share information with our accountants, attorneys and insurers; when the law requires it; or with a buyer or successor if our business is ever sold or reorganized. Contractors in the Console see only the properties they're assigned to, and they never see sellers' contact details or our financial information.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiries for as long as they're useful to us and you, and as part of our business records after a purchase. We keep contractor tax and insurance documents for as long as tax and insurance rules require. When we remove someone's access to the Console, the work they submitted stays with the project's history. You can ask us to delete your information sooner; we'll do so unless we're required to keep it.
Your choices
- Ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you.
- Tell us to stop contacting you about your property; just reply to our email or call us.
- Contractors can update their contact details in the contractor portal at any time.
We won't treat you differently for making any of these requests.
How we protect it
Our website and app use encrypted connections. Access to the Console is limited to people we invite, and each person sees only what their role allows. Sensitive files like W-9s and insurance certificates are stored privately rather than at public links. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe and will tell you if a breach affects you, as the law requires.
Children
This website and the Console are meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes affecting Console users, we'll also let them know directly.
